Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on. And it makes me wonder…
Stairway to Heaven
…It makes me wonder what makes people choose which path to take in their lives. What makes someone choose path A over path B? A friend I grew up with while living in Lisbon Connecticut, passed last month and I attended his wake. On the way home, I began to wonder about this very topic. I lost touch with him after we both moved away from our “birth” town. But I kept up as best I could because I knew people who knew him.
I’m a firm believer in predestination as can be seen from the link that leads back to Wisdom and Life. So how does this column fit into my worldview?
Do we have any choice when it comes to making decisions about our lives?
Do we have control over the choices we make?
Of course we do, some choices we make before we incarnate. These are the ones that we don’t remember once we become physical:
The family we grow into.
The career we work in.
The time of our passing and how we will pass.
Whether we will marry and if when our soulmates will show up in our lives
Those are some of the choices that we have made BEFORE we incarnate. So yes we DO make ALL the choices in our lives, some we just don’t recall.
My friend took some wrong turns in his life but he was back on course. I wondered as I returned from his wake if he looked down through the ether and saw the life he chose and said:
Yes. That’s the life I want. I know I will suffer a bit; however my next life will be one of peace. I will pay for transgressions made in previous incarnations so my debt will be paid to the Universe. My next life will be better.
If you believe in Karma, Past Lives and paying your debt to the Universe by choosing a challenging life to live, so that your next life will be filled with peace, it kinda makes losing someone easier. Knowing that all lives are recycled and nothing is ever lost; a life that some may think has gone astray, a life that some may think is broken may have been chosen by the soul long before it incarnated.
Still, it is always distressing to lose someone you knew at an earlier time in your life, even if you lost touch decades ago.
I remember times spent with him as we lived next door to each other for a brief time.
I remember times spent with mutual friends.
Because of the path I’m on, because I believe what I believe, this is where my thoughts go. I still miss my friend and I hope we meet again. I hope he is in my soul group.
There is no goodbye.
I’ll see you again.
Be Happy! Be Well! Be Positive!
Blessings to you.
Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;
We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying. For there truly is no end.
