The Lord is my Shepherd

When I say, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want,” it’s more than just something to recite before eating. It’s an affirmation that the Good Shepherd is watching over the affairs of my life and is making sure that I’m taken care of.

The 23rd Psalm is my favorite. I THINK it’s because the 23rd psalm resonates so deeply with me. I’ve ALWAYS known that I’m watched over and protected. The Lord IS my shepherd. I have no fear of death, which is another reason this psalm speaks to me on such a deep level. If you’re not familiar with the 23rd psalm, you should definitely check it out:

If you can recite just this one sentence:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Even if you don’t believe it when you begin your recitation, if you continue to repeat it, eventually your mind will accept it. Let’s say it together:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

You are blessed and God watches over all of us. Do not fear! Do not worry! God NEVER gives us more than we can handle. If you feel as if you have the weight of the world burdening you, give thanks. God must feel you have more strength then you think you do.

Chris
