Fairy Godmother

Today will be the last column at Wisdom and Life
Until Monday, January 12, 2015

Something ENTIRELY off concept to start out today,
something TOO important NOT to discuss:
Life on Earth is only a panorama of vivid observations which seem real to you.
Why should afterlife seem less real to you?

And please do not fear it. Death is not the king of terrors.
Death is a friend. Consider it this way:
Do you fear to sleep at night? Of course not.
Because you know that you will wake again.

Think of death the same way.
As a sleep from which you will inevitably waken.

What Dreams May Come

It is SOOOOO surprising
how much this book has influenced MY worldview.
How much it has permeated my life.
All one has to do is go back to Wisdom and Life
and read from my death and dying category
and my past lives category
to see how many concepts I have incorporated into my life
from What Dreams May Come.

Amazing upon reading this book a 2nd time
how much I’ve come to realize
what an important book it REALLY is to me.

What Dreams May Come MUST be on ALL of mankind’s reading list.
It MUST be required reading for EVERYONE.

Okay.  To today’s column:
Yesterday would have been my Fairy Godmother’s 96th birthday. We all have that one person in our lives that watches over us, does their best to help us when we are in need, that loves us unconditionally, that one person whom without we would surely be in a COMPLETELY different place.

Image from:

That person in my life turned out to be my Aunt Bet.  Before she transitioned in 2003, she made sure I wouldn’t be in a DIFFERENT place.  My Fairy Godmother gave me the one thing that I will be forever indebted to her for.

She gave me security!
She gave me her home!
She made sure I had a place to call home.
She gave me her condo which is a ten minute walk to town, a ten minute walk to work.

Aunt Bet in the end gave me more than that condo.  She gave me so much.

She was my taxi when I needed it.
She gave me her ear when I needed to vent.
She gave me countless other things to; things I will never be able to repay.
She was my Aunt Bet.

Connecting the Dots:

I said it before and I will say it again now:

I went through a temporary Hell in the early 1970s, living with verbal as well as physical abuse. My mom and I lived in Farmington, Connecticut at the time and she worked in Hartford. Just before she escaped that abusive marriage, she met someone who put my life on a COMPLETELY different trajectory.

Jack wound up being my second step dad. But he’s been on my life for so long now, that he may as well be my Dad.

Aunt Bet was HIS aunt.  And she became mine as well.  Had it NOT been for my personal hell in Farmington, I wouldn’t be where I  am today.  Had I not moved to Farmington with my mom, I wouldn’t be where I am today.  That’s why I’ve said previously that I wouldn’t want to change a thing in my life.  Changing any one thing will cause our lives to go somewhere different.  We wouldn’t recognize a THING in our lives if were to tamper with ANY one tiny event.

Everything that happens is supposed to happen.
Everything that happens has a ripple effect on the rest of our lives.

Had I changed that abusive relationship:
–My Fairy Godmother wouldn’t have shown up.
–I wouldn’t have the life I have now.
–I surely wouldn’t have the friends I have

And that security of having a home ten minutes from work?  You can definitely scratch that off.  If this isn’t a clear sign of predestination, then PLEASE tell me what one is.  I discussed this topic previously with my column:
Phone Call to the Future.  I recommend reading it.  I realize my personal worldview may not coincide with everyone, however if you can look back over the course of your own lives, I bet you will find similar challenges that connect the dots to a brighter future.

If this latest incarnation seems to be heading to your OWN personal Hell as mine did for a brief few years while I was young, take me as an example.
We ALL have to go through growing pains to become the person we are meant to be.
We all have to be caterpillars before we are butterflies.

Don’t despair if your latest incarnation seems to be heading in the wrong direction.  One minor pivot and your Fairy Godmother will be there.  Mine appeared when I needed her.  I didn’t know at the time that she would indeed become my Fairy Godmother.  We never remember what we plan when we choose our lives.  However, were it not for my going through that abusive relationship in the early 1970s, I wouldn’t be in the place I am now.  I wouldn’t have the life I have now.

Why do I continue saying this?  Repetition helps with memory.  I want to ensure that you understand that even though you may be in a storm at the moment, that life WILL get better, that this storm is SUPPOSED to happen, that this storm is simply a means of clearing the debris to make room for something brighter.

This ALWAYS happens.  You just have to be awake.  You just have to be aware.  It’s why I write Wisdom and Life.  This blog is my way of shaking you all out of your coma.  This blog is meant to wake everyone up.  Are you sufficiently shaken?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.
