The Power of the Number Three

My divine pipeline is completely unclogged.  As anyone who has been reading Wisdom and Life for awhile now realizes I believe I’m simply a conduit, that while I’m physically typing out the the words on my computer screen, the message, the concepts, the ideas for my columns are given to me from the Divine.  This happened again last week as put my laundry away.

The power of the number three floated through my consciousness as finished hanging my shirts in my closet.  Maybe it is because Easter Weekend has just passed and the phrase:
On the third day he rose flitted through.  Have you ever stopped to consider how often you see the number three appear:
Area Codes.
The first digits of a Social Security Number.
The first digits of a phone number.
Events happen in “threes.”

It is also the last number written in as many lines:
III

In many religious practices, the number three is significant:

Christian Thought:
The Divine Trinity
On the third day.
Jesus was tempted three times

Jewish Thought:
Jonah spent three days in the whale.
Noah had three sons

Three Patriarchs:
Jacob
Abraham
Isaac

There are so many other examples where the number three is representative.  Where do you think the power of that number originated?
Was it a religious thought?
Was it Pagan?

Or a combination of both?

Because you are aware that many pagan beliefs were melded into Christianity?  And then we have the number thirteen, a derivative of three.  While the number three is seen as a positive in religious thought, the opposite is true for thirteen.  The most influential use of the number thirteen is:
Friday the Thirteenth

Did you know one of the originations of Friday the Thirteenth may have been related to the day that The Knights Templar demise and the death of many from that organization?

Regardless, the number three holds sway over the entire world whether it is that exact number or the derivative thirteen.

Blessings to you.

A Divine Chip

In a recent Power Group meeting, we ended up discussing parents and their children as high school was coming to a close.  One of the things we discussed was those high school students who SAID they didn’t know what they wanted to do.  I countered that MOST students do know what they want but are afraid to say.

Those who knew and DID express their opinions I believe sometimes had a “divine chip” implanted in them as they incarnated.  This chip overrode any dissenting opinion either from family or school.  These people bucked the system do do what they were put here to do.

My best friend growing up in Lisbon, Connecticut is one such person.  I recall being in third grade with him at Lisbon Central School and hearing him repeatedly say he would be a doctor.

Joe is now a foot doctor in Norwich, Connecticut.  I learned a valuable lesson from Joe:
Never let someone tell you what’s best for you, because only YOU know what’s best for you.

Some of us can’t afford to pursue of career choice immediately.  That simply means we must find another way to supplement or abundance while we continue to work on our specific goals.  For some of us, we can simply pivot a bit.  I’ll use myself and another friend as an example:

For me, my goal has always been the written word.

Writing as can be seen from the previous link, has always been my first love.  It takes a long time to build a career in writing.  I acknowledge that.  I didn’t let that deter me however and I also didn’t travel a completely different path.  I’m still involved with the written word, having pivoted to a library, where I am surrounded by books.  Books have always been a major influence on me.  I didn’t want to be separated from them.  I thank my own “divine chip” for keeping me on the right path.  No one influenced me to make a decision that they THOUGHT was right for me.  That “divine chip” implanted in myself is still working.  And I thank God for placing it there.

My friend, Jason Marchi who I’ve mentioned here at Wisdom and Life as can be seen from the previous link is someone else who I believe has that aforementioned “divine chip.”  Like me, he has been a writer as long as I’ve known him.  In fact it is how we met.  And like me, he pivoted just a bit in his day job, having worked for a publishing company in his hometown.  We both stayed in the “writing field” so as to keep our enthusiasm up.  We didn’t let other people define the roles we wanted and now we are reaping the rewards.

I believe we all have that divine chip.  However for some of us it is more defined and we are not afraid to express what we want.  We don’t want to wake up one morning saying:
Shoulda.  Woulda.  Coulda.

Thanks to Patricia for the inspirational term:

Carrie Fisher/Debbie Reynolds

Mother and daughter passed within a day of each other.  Some may say Carrie Fisher’s mom, Debbie Reynolds suffered a stroke because of the stress of losing her daughter.  That’s an explanation people will be able to accept.  But there’s another esoteric interpretation of the events that happened at the end of December.  It’s one that I prescribe to:
Predestination

Image Carrie Fisher:

Image Debbie Reynolds

That concept that says we decide our fate when we choose the life we will live in transition hall.  What’s transition hall?  You may ask:

Transition Hall is where we go to choose our next incarnation.  I understand that some of my worldview may sound a bit esoteric.  However, for someone steeped in the paradigm, it is all simply one piece to the puzzle.

In Transition Hall, we choose not only the life we will lead but we also sign a contract that states all that will happen during our latest incarnation, from when we will incarnate and into what kind of life we will live to when we will transition once more back to our soul groups.

So what I’m saying here is that I believe that predestination tells us that there are certain aspects of our lives that simply can NOT be altered by the contract that we sign:
Our incarnation date and out transition date are two such things that can’t change.

Unless we take matters into our own hands with our transition.  If we do that then we don’t return to our soul group.  That will cause a one way ticket back to humanity.  This is not a punishment as I’ve written here countless times over.  It is simply a spiritual law, a karmic law.

Perhaps during Carrie Fisher’s and Debbie Reynolds’ time in transition hall, they decided to pass together.  They obviously had a contentious relationship during their latest incarnation; another thing they chose when they incarnated.  They seem to have finally resolved their differences however.  Because they became family again, only to have their time cut short, perhaps, Debbie Reynolds DID need to be with Carrie and maybe that was in the contract Reynolds signed before she incarnated:
That if they were able to set aside their differences, Reynolds would transition with her daughter.

I understand this is a delicate topic and I’m in no way making light of this tragic event.  I’m simply giving my own explanation for why I THINK mother and daughter may have passed together.  An esoteric reason I know.  Because I’m steeped in the paradigm I’m in, I find my thoughts naturally going in that direction.  May Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds find peace in their passing and we can celebrate their lives.

Blessings to you.

What is the Meaning of Life According to Wisdom and Life

I spent two Sundays ago in the afternoon (almost four hours) with a new friend.  Somehow we wound up discussing the meaning of life.  I know.  A heavy discussion for such a new friendship.  After we departed, my friend asked me to write up an email with my thoughts so they could share with their family.  I’ve decided to write up a column here at Wisdom and Life. I will also send an email to my friend.  All of this information is available at Wisdom and Life but is scattered throughout the blog.  I’ve decided to write up my ENTIRE worldview so it is in one place.
Worldview

Reincarnation/Past Lives

Here is what I think:

As those of you who know me understand, one of my core beliefs is in the Past Life/Reincarnation story.  So what happens when we incarnate in each life and WHY do we keep returning?  What is your philosophy on that?  You may ask.  Okay.  That’s a legitimate question.  I equate returning to the physical after a brief time of reflection the same way we move from grade to grade in school.  School?  You’re equating life and death to school?  Oh this should be good.  I bet you’re thinking.  Let me explain:
How do we move from grade to grade?  How do we get promoted to another grade?  After we have learned what we need to we are promoted to the next grade, correct?  Well that’s how I see each life we move into.  Once we have transitioned, we spend some time with our soul group.  What’s a soul group?  You can look here for more information:
Soul Groups

The time we spend with our soul group gives us the opportunity to reflect on the life we just left.  We look at each event we experienced and consider what we could have done better. So that hopefully when that event re-occurs in our next incarnation IF we made a decision that affected us adversely, we will continue seeing that event until we make a better choice.

The who concept in my worldview of reincarnation is to get to a point where we become more God like.  Where don’t HAVE to return.  Where we can CHOOSE to return.  So life, death and reincarnation is lesson building.

So where does God, Jesus and Heaven fall in your view?

Do you believe in God?
Do you believe Jesus existed?
Do you believe in heaven?

God is everywhere in my life.  I carry on a daily conversation with HIM.  Too much has happened in my life NOT to see God in my life.  HE is the master controller of what happens when we go into transition.  Let’s continue using the school metaphor:
I see God as a school’s principal.  They oversee the system.  That’s the way I see God.  He monitors what happens in our lives.  You can communicate with him just as you can communicate with your school’s principal.

Jesus certainly existed.  He is the first to reincarnate.  Recall in the Bible, that he passed.  Also recall, that he returned as flesh to his disciples.  Jesus is the flesh of God.  He is God incarnated.  Jesus is the assistant principal in the school metaphore.  In most schools, the assistant principal is the disciplinarian.  This may have been apt at one point when God was seen as vengeful.  God is NOT and was NEVER vengeful.  God is love.

Heaven exists.  Whether it is a permanent place or simply a way station as in Transition Station, a place our souls go to review our last life I can’t say.  I like Robin Williams thoughts in the Movie What Dreams May Come when he said toward the end of that movie.  I’m paraphrasing of course because I can’t recall the EXACT words he used.  He said:
But what about going back?  Don’t worry about the kids.  They want us to go.  A whole human life is just a heartbeat here in heaven. (As in time doesn’t exist.)  Then we’ll all be together forever.

There is so much more that I believe:
That everything happens for a reason.
That predestination is real.

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.

When is it the End?

Uh oh.  Today’s column will probably stir up some controversy.  What you decide is ENTIRELY up to you.  I certainly won’t judge anyone by the decisions they make.  And as I wrote here, this is NOT an easy choice to make.  There comes a time when enough IS enough.  It’s up to each of us to make that decision when we’ve reached that point.  The trick is knowing when that point has come.  Too soon and you’ll always be thinking:
What if?

Too late and you’ll be cursing yourself for letting a loved one stay too long.

One of Scranton Memorial Library’s frequent patrons, (let’s call her Rita) came into the library a few weeks ago. I don’t recall how we began this discussion but we started talking about what happens if someone is incapacitated in a nursing home or a hospital and wants to end their lives.

You do of course understand that we sign a contract when we incarnate?  Who are we to break a contract? And what happens when we break one?  You know what I THINK happens when we take our own lives even IF we are suffering?

When someone takes their own life it is a one way ticket back to the physical.  As I’ve written at Wisdom and Life on numerous occasions, when someone dies by their own hand, I believe they don’t see Transition Tunnel, they don’t meet those in their soul group.  This is not a punishment.  Everything that happens in our lives is a tool to teach us.

Life is sacred and we shouldn’t decide when to end it.  Even as I’m writing this, I’m conflicted.  On the one hand, EVERYTHING in my soul says that we can NOT and should NOT do what God has decreed, what we have decreed when we choose our lives.  We choose not only our lives, but the challenges we will face in each incarnation.  When we become physical we forget the time we spent in Transition Hall.  If, as I believe we choose the challenges we will face and the way we will transition out of each life how can we break that contract?

Uh ha!

You may say.  What if we chose taking our life?  I suppose that’s possible, however I would like to think someone with greater power than ourselves would do their best to dissuade us.  We shouldn’t have that power.  Life is a gift and we shouldn’t return it.  I certainly understand the situation one can find themselves in if they are in a place where there seems to be no way out, where there seems to be no way to get better.  In the end the choice is ours.  No one wants to be on life support letting a machine keep us alive.  However, miracles DO happen.

I do believe we shouldn’t mess with our transition date.  I believe that date is carved in stone and to change it arbitrarily, because we are in emotional or physical pain will only cause us to repeat the same pain at exactly the same point in our lives until we learn to move beyond it.  Whether you believe that is entirely up to you. What you choose to believe is entirely up to you.

Everything comes down to a choice and what you decide to do with it.

Blessings to you.

Passing In Pairs

–Princess Diana
August 31, 1997

–Mother Teresa
September 5, 1997
–Wayne Dyer
August 29, 2015

–Oliver Sacks
August 30, 2015

On Monday, September 14, a friend of mine mentioned Wayne Dyer’s passing.  She then brought up the fact that Oliver Sacks passed shortly after Wayne Dyer.  Sometimes my mind goes somewhere that many people don’t consider.  Look at the above list of names and when they passed.  Do you ever consider why people in the public eye sometimes tend to pass in pairs?  I do.

Let’s look at Princess Diana and Mother Teresa:
When Mother Teresa passed and it was less than a week after Princess Diana, even back then BEFORE my spiritual nature expanded to the point where it is now, I had these thoughts.  Why did these two remarkable women transition so close to each other?  I often wonder if their souls weren’t needed elsewhere to mediate some disturbance in the force so to speak.  Afterall they were extremely influential in the physical, and since we are OUR souls, since we ARE spiritual beings having a physical experience why couldn’t we not have something to offer in another realm?

Okay!
I know what you’re thinking now.  You’re recalling my previous statements that our transition day is carved in stone, that it can’t be undone.  In most cases that is correct.  What if we chose to pass on that particular day because we KNEW we would be needed?

Or
what if there was ONE who could override ANY particular order we placed?  I’m sure you’ve the adage:
Rules were made to be broken.

What if this tenet that our transition day is carved in stone is still true, but that it is carved in shale?

How about Wayne Dyer and Oliver Sacks:
My thoughts IMMEDIATELY returned to Diana and Mother Teresa when Oliver Sacks passed a day after Wayne Dyer.

–Again Sacks and Dyer were influential in life, both were writers and both were an inspiration to many.
–Again what if they were needed to mediate in another realm?

I’m sure you can find other cases where influential souls have passed in pairs.  These are just two instances that jumped out to me.  It’s where my thoughts go when these kinds of things happen.  How bout you?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Seeding Planet Earth

There is a theory that humanity developed from space, that we were placed here by a benevolent race from outside this universe.  There have been many movies and television series that touched on this theory.  In the Star trek The Next Generation episode called The Chase in one of the final scenes, we see a hologram of a humanoid explaining how all races are tied together:
Star Trek Next Generation The Chase Monologue

One of the plot lines in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus posits the same theory that we all have one common ancestor and that ancestor is tied to a seeding of the planets from another world.

At the 40 second mark of The Prometheus Trailer, we hear someone discuss a pictogram that was discovered in civilizations separated by centuries.

Earth

The February 6 release of Jupiter Ascending is the latest movie to proffer this theory.  Not that these examples necessarily prove the theory, however knowing that there are many who promote this and seeing it show up so frequently certainly relays the fact that there is something going on.  As Law of Attraction states:
The more something shows up in our reality, the clearer it becomes that we should pay attention.

Maybe that’s why I walked into The Madison Coffee Shop a few months ago and saw my friend, Pete Onofrio.  As we waited for our lunches we started a conversation about a variety of topics we are both passionate about.  One of the topics Pete brought up was the theory that we originated from the stars.  The funny thing about my showing up at The Coffee Shop that afternoon was that it wasn’t my initial intention.  I planned on going somewhere else.  Obviously the Divine had other plans.

That’s what usually happens when I run into Pete.  I never really plan on doing The Coffee Shop when I see Pete there.  The Divine knows when he is there and it ALWAYS diverts my thought process.  We’ve talked about this before as well, how we end up seeing each other and it’s totally serendipitous.

So; the theory that we originated from the stars, how does one balance this with a belief in God?  If we DID originate from another species, who created THAT species?  I’ve touched on this topic previously in a column called Alien Life.  Like the Chicken and the Egg, which came first?  Someone had to create the first life.  As The Bible says:
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Who is to say that God didn’t seed the multiverse?  What if God was the benevolent being who put is DNA everywhere?

Blessings to you.

You Were Born With Wings

You were born with potential.  You were born with goodness and trust.  You were born with ideals and dreams.  You were born with greatness.  You were born with wings.  You were not meant for crawling. You have wings.  Learn to use them and fly.

Rumi

I don’t recall recall how I initially came across Rumi.  However, everything I’ve read as resonated deeply with me.  Rumi is a wonderful inspiration for those looking for positivity in their lives.  When we incarnate, we we are naturally love.  We are goodness and trust.  No one is born without those intentions.  So what happens to those souls who grow up and lose those innate feelings of love?  Of trust?

Society happens.
Society burns those out of us.  We forget because those around us make us forget.  You know what, though?

Love is still there!
Trust is still there!
Our wings are still there!

Image from:
Wikimedia
AngelWingsThey are only hiding.  Our task while incarnated is to remember that we are made of love.  We are positive energy.  Love is all around us.  Greatness is within us, hiding. Our wings are still there too.

If you want to find your wings,
If you want to find your love,
If you want to find your dreams,

The only thing you can do is look within.  And remember:
You won’t be able to give love.  You won’t be able to give dreams, if you can’t find them within yourself.

So how do you find something that you once owned but have misplaced?  Do you look in the same places over and over hoping that the next time you look there, the missing item will miraculously appear?  I know I’ve done that countless times as I’m sure many people have.

But when searching for an emotion such as love or greatness if you look in the same old places you may get burned. That’s why the ONLY place to find these lost emotions are within yourself.

Those wings?
That love?
That greatness?

They’ve taken up residence deep within your soul and the only way to recover them is to dig them out.  Tell yourself you are love.  Tell yourself greatness resides within you.  Even if you don’t believe it, eventually those words will become a mantra and eventually you can’t help but listen and when you start listening, listening will mold itself into belief.

Once belief takes hold you can fly with those beautiful angel wings that have sprouted once more.  That is simply the beginning of your new life.  Once you have your wings, once you have recovered that lost child, then the most challenging part of your new life begins:
You must show others how to discover their own greatness.

For greatness, love and wings grow exponentially when shared.  Are you up for the task?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Alien Life

I know!

A little outside Wisdom and Life’s purview, but the column is sort of apropos for today, being as it is Halloween:

Anyone ever watch The History Channel’s Decoded with Brad Meltzer?  I recently watched the episode called UFO.
How many believe we have been visited by alien life?
How many believe there is life on other planets?
How many have seen a UFO?

UFO

Image from:
Wikimedia

If you believe God exists, does that preclude you from believing in life on other planets?  Why do you think God would create only one life form?  If he is indeed all powerful why would he want us to be his only creation?  I understand that I may be ruffling some feathers here, but why is it that many on both sides of the Alien Life spectrum have such distaste for each other:
On one hand we have the religious front that feels that God created us in his likeness and and how could he daine to create more life somewhere else, for we are the chosen?

What happens when science discovers life somewhere else or when undeniable proof arrives in the form of alien visitation?  Which many people claim to have witnessed.

On the other hand we have those people who have said they have come in contact with alien life, whether it is from seeing alien craft or actually seeing the Greys.

Typically these people are met with scorn, derision or are ostracized from their communities.  How is there expected to be a resolution to this if these factions can’t find equal footing?  It’s like I’ve said at Wisdom and Life previously:
We should be looking at our similarities.
We should be finding common ground.

There have been some highly reputable people who claim to have seen UFO’s
Former President Ronald Reagan claimed to have a UFO experience.
Former President Jimmy Carter had a UFO experience as well.

Neither of these former presidents ever backed away from their initial stories

That’s the ONLY way we will survive in the future.  We have far more commonalities than we do differences.  Speaking of knowing our common interests, Former President Reagan discussed this very matter while he was president:
UFO – Ronald Reagan’s Speech about Alien Invasion

Personally?

I take Story Musgrave’s approach to life elsewhere:
That our universe is so exponentially large of course there is life somewhere else.
Look at the Hubble telescope.  Every picture it returns to us is just a fraction of the number of planets and stars that live in our vast universe.  Of course there is life somewhere else.

My own philosophy:
It would take someone with a very small mind, someone extremely egotistical NOT to feel that there is life somewhere else.

When I was around fourteen years old I was fishing on Blissville Pond in Lisbon, Connecticut with my maternal grandfather and we both saw something black and spherical in the sky floating just above the water about a quarter mile away from us.  It flew around the pond briefly then shot straight up.  Blissville Pond has been a hotbed for activity in the past too.  Several of my friends in Lisbon have also said they’ve seen similar things in the same vicinity as my grandfather and I did.

What is your take on alien life?
Does it clash with your faith?  If so why?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Signs, The Divine and Spiritual Evolution

Have you ever thought that you wanted something so badly and you looked for signs that pointed in the direction of “the rightness,” of the choice but every time you turned around there were opposite signs pointing you in a different direction?

Image from:
Wikipedia
Caodaist_eye

Did you see these signs or did you choose to ignore them?  What do you suppose would happen if you chose to ignore them?  On a soul level we ALL know what feels right.  We ALL know when something is NOT supposed to happen and when we ignore the RIGHTNESS of something, the Divine will continue pushing you toward the right path.

Maybe it is a conversation you have with someone.

Maybe you overhear someone else and ONE word or a series of words get magnified and you ONLY hear THOSE words.  These are the things we MUST pay attention to.  It is the Divine directing us but unless we are aware, unless we are awake, unless our “spiritual blinders” are off we won’t understand, we won’t see, we won’t hear where Spirit is guiding us.

It’s important for our spiritual evolution to move forward.  And the only way we can develop beyond our current capacity is to listen our intuition, listen to our gut.  And when a choice is to be made, follow your intuition.  Your intuition is the direct pipeline to the divine.  If you receive a message in the form of an overheard conversation and the message appears to be telling you NOT to do something, then for heaven’s sake, heed the message.  For if you don’t and you stumble forward choosing to ignore THAT message then something stronger will come down the pike and knock you on your ass.

The first message you receive from the Divine can sometimes be VERY subtle, which is why it take practice to hear that message.  If you are indeed awake and you understand the messages that are filtering through the first time and you STILL choose to ignore them, then the NEXT time you hear from Spirit, the next message won’t be so subtle  I SINCERELY believe we get that next communication that is more brazen to wake us up, to shake the lethargy from our inner being.

There is no bad.
There is no negative.

Everything that happens in our lives, from blessings to challenges are simply the Divine’s attempt to move us forward, to help us grow, to help us evolve.  To move forward, however we have to start paying attention to the communications we receive.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.
